Head of School
It is a joy to begin my 4th year as Head of School at Grace Academy of North Texas. I have over 40 years of teaching and education experience including serving as a Head of School, Minister to Children, and teaching graduate level courses at Dallas Baptist University, and serving as Director of the Hope Counseling Training Program. My best experience is that I am a mother of 3 and grandmother of 5 beautiful grandchildren!
My education is from Minnesota State University in Mankato, Dallas Baptist University, University of North Texas, and Montessori training in Early Childhood and Elementary. My education and training include Elementary Education, Generic Special Education, School Administration and Leadership, Learning Styles, and Brain Research.
My experience includes teaching in public and private schools, bilingual 5th grade in Puebla, Mexico, starting schools and serving as Head of School at Grace Academy of Dallas, Prestonwood Christian Academy in Plano, and Legacy Christian Academy in Frisco
Author of 17 books on parenting and education including: Teaching with Heart, The Discipline Guide, Christian Charm Course for Girls, You and Your ADD Child, Discipline by Design, Touching Hearts and Changing Lives, Cherishing and Challenging Your Children, and Becoming a Treasured Teacher.
I am married to Paul who is in his 44st year with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. We love spending time with our 3 grown children and their families, especially our 5 grandchildren. We also enjoy being involved in our church, Stonebriar Community Church.
I believe that a Christian and Classical Education provides the best education to challenge students to love and serve the Lord Jesus Christ as well as be academically and spiritually prepared to conquer the intellectual arena for Christ. I am tremendously excited and blessed to be here with such great students, teachers, and families. Soli Deo Gloria—to God be the glory—for the ways He blesses us each day at Grace Academy of North Texas.
My interests include reading, writing, gardening, swimming, music, and spending time with my family.
My life verse is: Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain (1 Corinthians 15:58).
